Moving to Spokane

I am in Spokane, WA now. My dad and I flew from Niamey to Casablanca on the 3rd of April, and then, after a thre hour layover, from Casablanca to New York City. We took a bus from New York City to Rochester where Noah Gallop and his dad picked us up. We spent three wonderful days with them in Houghton, and then on Thursday the 6th we took a train from Rochester to here, with a five hour layover in Chicago which we used to visit the campus of Moody Bible Institute. The entire train ride was about 52 hours. We arrived here on Sunday the 9th of April. We stayed the first night at Jon's house, and then moved to one of his friends' house since Jon's place is kind of crowded right now.

Jon had already gotten a car for me from one of his friends and gotten it running before I came up here. On Tuesday I got my driver's permit, and on Friday I took my driver's test and got my license.

Jon and I are looking into the possibility of getting an apartment for us and another guy, so we would appreciate pray about that. I will probably apply this week for a job of installing sprinkler systems that Jonathan thinks I could get, a job which he also plans to work this summer, and worked last summer.

Excuse my neglect of my blog, J.L.P. I rarely even think of this place, much less write on it. I have been very busy with work. I don't have a lot of time to read, but have been reading Fairbairn lately.

I know that you were working...I hope I didn't soud mean, or trying to hurry you....just wondered if you were still alive!

I have been "working" (gasp) too...but under parental supervision. I actually haven't read anything deep in about a month. :(!

I hope that you have still an appetite for deeper discussion, and study....that working hasn't worn you out all the way! Maybe another movie would help your outlook! ;)

No, I realise that you were not trying to be mean, or to hurry me. You simply, and quite naturally, I might add, were impatient for some more of my enlightening and brilliant comments (if you note a slight hint of sarcasm in my last statement, consider yourself not far from the truth). Besides, if I were accidentally to get pulverised by a truck, or otherwise be relieved of my health to the point of dispatchment to the presence of the Almighty, I am sure Jon would let the Planet and you all know within a week or so.

What sort of work are you doing that you deem it necessary to enclose the word in a pair of double inverted commas? Whenever I move, it is discovered to me, beyond any doubt, that no such commas are required when I say I work.

My reading of late has been confined almost completely to Fairbairn and the biblical book of Proverbs.

I certainly still have an appetite for deeper discussion and study, which has not been curbed by the great fatigue resulting from work. However, our discussion has been prevented by want of a medium of communication.

Also, my outlook will likely not be at all altered by any movie I am likely to see any time soon.

I ment MAKE, Jo...not watch....make another movie with y'alls supremely devious wit.

I was sort of making fun of (what could be thought of as a) breach in our family morals...the woemen working, outside of home. (I was selling fireworks in a tent about 3 mi. away. Have we discussed this facet of beleifs yet?)

-here goes, I promised myself I wouldn't say anything, but-
Had you been checking your calendar during your lengthly work period you might have reason to hope about this..."said mode of communication"....(hint-hint)

I'm sorry- no translator for that! :)

And, lastly, I still think your deep insight is much in use with phrases such as were found in that above post, on the 8th or 9th line (last sentence)..... :)

Keep on for Him, Jo....

We have had some ideas for some further movies, but whether or not they will be realised is yet to be seen. Besides, I don't actually make the movies, myself.

Selling fireworks, while far less physically tiring than sprinkler installation, would drain me more, I think, due to the frequent interaction with customers. We have not, I think, discussed what you thought about women working outside of the home, but I think I have heard Behtany's views on the matter.

That one paragraph is excessively obscure for my comprehension. Perhaps I am exceedingly dense, but I fail to understand how the date has anything to do with communication.

No, not dense, just a typical male I guess! I'm not being negative...almost no guy I know (no guy I know!) thinks in "calendars"

Dan, what does "homie" mean?

"homie" is black slang for a friend.

Ah, thanks for the explaination.

Does Dan not like to be called Danny? It seems Dans your age just don't like that...

Let's see, Dan means "judge," Danny means "my judge," and Daniel means "God is my judge" or "God, my judge", right or something like that?

You don't want to be called "MY judge"? :)
